The Trossachs and Breadalbane mark the spot where the Highlands and Lowlands meet. Much of this picturesque area lies within the boundariesThe Trossachs of Loch Lomond  and The Trossachs National Park.

The gateways to this startling landscape, rich in mythology and folklore, are the villages of Callander and Aberfoyle

Callander has an abundance of craft and woollen shops and the centre of the town cradles the memories and exploits of legendary Highland Rogue Rob Roy MacGregor, local hero and bandit.

The attractive little hamlet of Balquhidder is overlooked by the dramatic mountain terrain of the Braes of Balquhidder  at the head of the glorious Loch Voil. Balquhidder_Glen.jpg (34522 bytes)

The local churchyard is the final resting place of Rob Roy, his grave marked with the appropriately defiant motto “MacGregor Despite Them”.

Popular beauty spots around the Highland edge include the Bracklinn Falls on the Keltie Water and the Falls of Leny

                                                                                   Leny Falls

which cascade between the rocks of the narrow Pass of Leny.

Killin - The village straddles the magnificent Falls of Dochart and has a fascinating tradition with Celtic myths and legends.        Falls_of_Dochart.jpg (70587 bytes)
